RATM: The Reunion

September 25, 2007 by Jo Minor · Leave a Comment

Rage Against The Machine, one of the greatest standout bands of the 90s, was due to reunite sooner or later. The Smashing Pumpkins beat them to it, though, and they?re already playing shows as a band again. RATM, on the other hand, has ? slowly but surely ? parted ways with ex-Soundgarden man Chris Cornell, and this seems to strengthen the theory that the band is planning a complete reunion.

?

Chris Cornell wasn?t the right man for the job anyway. He took away the anger that Zack de la Rocha had, and somehow softened the entire band as they morphed into a forgettable unit known as Audioslave. The rest of the band had to change their musical ways to suit his singing ? fans said tearful goodbyes to the guitar-driven sounds of RATM.

?

Let?s hope that Zack returns for good. RATM deserves to be more than one of the standout bands of the 90s; they deserve to do what they do best right here, right now, in a time where we need more authentic rock music.

With Apologies to Paris Hilton

September 25, 2007 by Jo Minor · Leave a Comment

Paris Hilton, you looked absolutely stunning walking out of your cold concrete confinement. You couldn?t have looked more stunning cat-walking to the merry tune of camera flashes.

?

You actually looked graceful. Refined. Exquisite. Classy, even. I hope the trashy Paris is gone forever.

?

When I saw your picture splashed across the front pages of newspapers everywhere, you looked like a graceful Swiss maid; your blonde hair flowing, your eyes sparkling.

?

So, Paris, I hope you never return to making music, and I sincerely wish you?d put your millions in good use. No, don?t get a fleet of shiny new limos. Give to charities. Oh, and if you actually read this, I could use a couple of mil in my bank account.

Nails In A Pumpkin

Billy Corgan of the Smashing Pumpkins was the attack of Nine Inch Nails? frontman Trent Reznor.

?

Reznor took issue with Pumpkins founder Billy Corgan not reuniting the band’s original lineup, saying, ?I think trying to resurrect the name Smashing Pumpkins…it?s all a bit corporate for me.?

?

The only original members left in the Pumpkins are vocalist/guitarist/songwriter Billy Corgan and drummer Jimmy Chamberlin.

?

The new Pumpkins are promoting Zeitgeist, the first collection of all-new material under the band’s name since 2000. The group begins a North American tour on September 8 in Montreal.

Michael Jackson Misses Wedding

September 24, 2007 by Jo Minor · Leave a Comment

Not that it?s a surprise or anything, but the ever reclusive King of Pop missed his own nephew?s wedding. The aforementioned nephew is TJ, from 90s popsters 3T, and didn?t comment on his uncle?s absence. We wonder if MJ has some face problems again.

Lordi Mainman Explains Mechanics Behind Free Ozzfest

September 24, 2007 by Jo Minor · Leave a Comment

Lordi mainman Mr. Lordi recently spoke to Jonathan Cunningham of Broward-Palm Beach, Florida’s New Times ? explaining the mechanics behind the free music event.

?

“We are not getting paid,” Mr. Lordi said. But there’s no income. How can you pay the bands if there aren’t any ticket sales? It’s pretty simple. This is really a promotion for us. You have to take it like starting from scratch. But we’re really lucky bastards. It’s not like starting from scratch; we play in front of thousands of people every other day, so it’s like starting from third or fourth.”

?

His band?s inclusion into the Ozzfest line-up this year probably explains it even better: Who would want to pay to see a crappy band like Lordi?

Kanye West: The Anti- Golddigger

Apparently, West practices what he preaches.

?

Kanye arrived in the posh Stringfellows strip club on the night of August 21st, but refused to break out the dollar bills for any of the gyrating dancers in front of him ? but he did, however, spend over six grand already on posh cocktails.

?

Skimping on the spending already, Mr West? That?s wise. We don?t need another MC Hammer incident!

Gloria?s Comeback!

September 21, 2007 by Jo Minor · Leave a Comment

Gloria Estefan, the Queen of Miami, has scored her 20th #1 song as her latest single, No Llores, has just climbed atop the Billboard Latin Singles Chart. Truly impressive, judging that she has been out of the limelight for ages!

?

For fans of her music, Estefan?s new album, 90 Millas, comes out on September 18th. For all fans in the US, order through Walmart to get a personally autographed copy from Gloria herself!

Death Metal and the Peruvian Earthquake

September 21, 2007 by Jo Minor · Leave a Comment

This goes out to all the ignorant pricks who think that Death Metal is about decadence, violence and hate.

?

Legendary death metallers Cannibal Corpse have asked their fans to donate food and other supplies during the band’s concert on the 25th of August in Lima, Peru to aid the victims of the magnitude-8 earthquake which shook the southern coast of Peru, killing over 500 people and injuring 1500.

?

This shows that no matter what, people who make violent music are still people with feelings and compassion. And emo musicians suck.

Courtney Loves Blogging

If there?s one person on the planet who shouldn?t blog, it would be Courtney Love.

?

After reading an excerpt from her blog, which was written to (presumably) hire two designers (the entire section is unreadable ? and that?s saying it nicely). Anyway, let?s cut to the chase; see if you can understand this:
