Did you know that Metallica lead guitarist Kirk Hammett used to take lessons from renowned fusion guitarist Joe Satriani? This was the time before he left San Francisco thrash metal luminary Exodus to replace Dave Mustaine?s position (who just got himself fired) in the Metallica camp.

Hammett is not shy to go back to school when he feels the need to do so. Before the Load/ Re-Load recording sessions, he actually took guitar classes and honed his skills in blues guitar - you can hear the results in some of the songs in the aforementioned albums.
