Indie-Music.com is ranked number 1 in Google for the search term “indie music”, and that’s how I found them. And I’m glad I did, cos this site has a lot of great benefits the readers of this blog are going to love.

Here’s what’s worth mentioning:

  • Promote your music - By paying $9.95 and up, you can create a profile and promote your music. The higher the music scores, the greater its exposure. This site gets over 5 million hits a month so you’ll possibly end up with more than a few loyal fans here.
  • Indie music directory - they have tons of links that you can follow, which covers everything from record labels, to CD printing, local music studios, and even to blogs like this one
  • Classifieds - Post a free / paid ad for your upcoming gig, guitars you wanna sell, and more
  • Indie Music magazine - Online ezine that goes out to over 17,000 subscribers. If you want to promote your band / band services in the ezine, you can get an ad between $50 and $120

People may also want to check out OurStage.com. The site is free for bands to upload music. Each month, the fans vote for the top song, and the winners get prizes like cash, performance slots at festivals like Bumbershoot and Bonnaroo, coverage in magazines, CD compilations, etc. They interview artists almost everyday. I looked them up on Alexa and it looks like they have double the traffic that indie-music has.

Zuluwannsago is an afrofunk band from Amsterdam, the Netherlands, and consists of 10 people. The jazzy, funky groove with latin and reggae influences are catching the audience and the band members themselves.
The members all have a very different back ground. Yusuf Nuweku, the bandleader, comes originally from Ghana. From childhood on he played the traditional percussion rhythms from his country. In the Netherlands he developed himself as a bandleader. Apart from percussion he always loves the afrobeat (from Fela Kuti and King Sunny Ade), jazz and funk. These are the styles that Zuluwannsago plays.
The Caribbean man Papie Lomp is the big man behind the keyboard. He produces, arranges and composes mainly latin and gospel music. He accompanied bands with his keyboard for about twenty years.
Carlos Manso is half Portugese half Dutch. As a music engineer and session leader he saw every jam session and band in Amsterdam. He plays bass guitar.
Sam Sawadogo was born in the Ivory Coast, West Africa, but was raised in the Netherlands. At the age of twelve he was already playing his guitar in a gospel band. He plays all styles of music: reggae, funk and blues, with many different bands.
The other musicians from Zuluwannsago are: Michael Rorby on trombone, Leopoldo da Silveira sax, Ans Feenstra and Mariam Adukwe backing vocals, Natty Landbos congas, Ouagas Ousu guitar.
